How can you part-own a wind farm?
Luke Loveridge, CEO of Propflo, recently sat down with Sarah Merrick, CEO and Founder of Ripple Energy, to explore how Ripple’s innovative green energy model can benefit Propflo’s homeowners.
Ripple enables everyone to own a portion of a large wind farm or solar park and receive the low-cost green energy it generates, which is then supplied to their homes through our utility partners. Whether you rent, live in an apartment, or plan to move house, you can still own part of a wind farm that stays put while you enjoy the benefits.
Every month, for the lifetime of the project—whether that’s 25, 30, or even 40 years—you receive savings on your energy bill. It’s a really straightforward way to act on climate change while stabilising your electricity costs.
Who is Ripple for?
Essentially, anyone can benefit from Ripple. For many homes, it’s hard to generate all your electricity from solar panels because the roof space isn’t big enough. Ripple complements home solar really well, providing a flexible solution for generating clean energy.
If you rent or live in an apartment, installing solar panels just isn’t feasible. Even if you could, you’d have to leave the system behind when you move. Ripple is a fantastic option for people in these situations because the ownership of your green energy source is tied to you—not to your property. It’s flexible, affordable, and works for a wide range of people and housing setups. You can start owning as little as £25 worth of a wind farm, and you can own up to an amount that generates all of your electricity consumption plus an extra 20%. So, it’s incredibly adaptable for different energy needs.
How are you working with Propflo?
We see a lot of synergy between Ripple and Propflo. When people are looking to refurbish their homes, it’s an ideal moment to think about how they can power their homes more sustainably. That’s where Ripple comes in—it offers homeowners a chance to own part of a renewable energy source, no matter their property type or circumstances.
We’re really excited about this partnership with Propflo, as it allows us to reach more people who are at a crucial decision-making point when it comes to energy efficiency. When you’re upgrading your home, you’re often thinking more broadly about energy options, and Ripple provides a solution that’s not tied to the home but to the homeowner themselves.
We’re looking forward to introducing Ripple to Propflo’s customers, as it’s a great time for them to consider not just making their homes more energy-efficient, but also how they can source their power sustainably.
